The short version: we run a small editorial site about wine-country lifestyle and intimate wellness. We use standard web analytics and advertising tools to understand how the site is used. We do not sell your personal information. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. Modern Love Living is a publication operated by Spice Sensuality LLC in Santa Rosa, California. Information you provide directly

  • Newsletter signups — when you subscribe, we collect your email address and any other field you fill out (such as first name).
  • Contact form / direct messages — when you write to us at hello@modernloveliving.com, we keep the message and your email address to respond.
  • Editorial submissions — if you pitch a story or submit content, we keep what you send us.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data — pages viewed, time on site, referring URL, device type, browser, approximate location (city/region from IP).
  • Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 4 below.
  • Server logs — IP address, request timestamp, user agent. Hosting provider Netlify retains these for security and abuse prevention.

3. How we use information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the site.
  • Send you the newsletter you subscribed to (and only that — we do not add you to other lists without consent).
  • Respond to your inquiries.
  • Measure and improve advertising performance — including traffic from Google Ads, Meta, and other platforms.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site. These include:

  • Google Tag Manager — orchestrates the tags below.
  • Google Analytics 4 — aggregated usage analytics. IP anonymization is on; we do not enable Google Signals or cross-device tracking by default.
  • Google Ads conversion tracking — when you arrive from a Google Ads ad, we record that the click resulted in a meaningful action (e.g., reaching the gift guide, clicking a CTA, signing up). We do not see who you are personally.
  • Meta (Facebook) pixel — when present, used for the same purpose on Meta-served ads.
  • Necessary cookies — small first-party cookies that remember preferences (e.g., dark/light theme, dismissed banners).

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site may not function as intended. For analytics opt-out, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. Outbound links and third-party services

Modern Love Living is the editorial sister of Spice Sensuality, an intimate-wellness boutique in Santa Rosa, California. Many articles link to spicesensuality.com or other commercial partners. When you click an outbound link, you leave Modern Love Living and the destination site's privacy policy applies. We do not control how third-party sites collect or use information. We may earn a commission or referral credit on some outbound links; this never changes the price you pay.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information for money or for cross-context behavioral advertising in the sense California's CCPA defines. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who run our site (Netlify hosting, Google Workspace email, our newsletter platform), under contract to use the data only on our behalf.
  • Advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta) for measurement and audience modeling — only the aggregated, hashed, or pseudonymous signals their pixels send. We do not upload your email or phone to them without your consent.
  • Spice Sensuality LLC, our operating company, for editorial and operational purposes.
  • Law enforcement or legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property.
  • A successor entity if Modern Love Living or Spice Sensuality is acquired or merged.

7. Your rights

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you, the sources, the purposes, and any third parties we share with.
  • Delete personal information we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. To opt out of sharing for advertising measurement, email us at privacy@modernloveliving.com with the subject line "Do Not Share."
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly collect or process sensitive personal information.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge a different price, or provide a different level of quality if you exercise these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@modernloveliving.com. We may verify your identity before responding. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf with proof of authorization.

Other US states

If you are a resident of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, or another state with consumer privacy rights, similar rights generally apply. Email privacy@modernloveliving.com to exercise them.

8. Age restriction (18+)

Modern Love Living is intended for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact privacy@modernloveliving.com.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email; their data is removed within 30 days of unsubscribing (with limited retention for suppression lists to prevent re-mailing).

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but do our best.

11. International transfers

Modern Love Living is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the US, your information is processed in the US and may be subject to US laws.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
